Road To Rukwa Day 3

The Tanzanian culture has its formalities. The first day, upon arriving in Sumbawanga, it is customary for the TV crew to meet with the local officials. This allows them to meet their visitors and know who is doing what in their jurisdictions.

On Wednesday morning we met with the Regional Director, Regional Director, the organization we were partners in these two episodes of the Head of Department in the city, Expert we were going to interview male circumcision episode, and someone else, they told us to shake hands.

These are informal meetings. We all (7 in total) to go to each office and sit down to discuss the individual. We will explain each of them, who we are, what we do, who we are, and what the objectives of the show is. We also have to introduce ourselves and explain how we are member of the group. Each meeting is about an hour, and sometimes they serve tea!

This Sumbawanga Regional Hospital, we met a doctor a heads-up program. They hope to cut around 250 000 men over the next five years

in this region alone. Nationwide, they want to reach the 2.3 million men.

He took us to tour the clinic and then round the hospital grounds … a rather primitive but effective. He took us to Grade 1 area of the institution. This is the place where the money can not stay. The rooms are much nicer and quieter. No one was staying there when we went through. Nobody has money here!

Later that day we started shooting in different graphics for the show … only the street landscapes, people, etc. I am going to share some pictures with you in order to get a better idea of where I am staying.
