7. Government HouseFormer residence of New South Wales Governors (within the Royal Botanic Gardens), now open to the public with free tours every half hour from Friday to Sunday 10:30 to 3:00 p.m.. Its elegant colonial architecture and furniture and art collections on display. Stroll through the gardens of Government House, also with stunning views of the harbor.
Discover the architectural splendor of the Cathedral of St. Mary's, the mother church of Catholicism in Australia. Go for a visit or to pray. The crypt, which is famous for its mosaic floor representing the Creation is open daily 10:00 to 4:00 p.m.. Free tours are available cathedral Sunday afternoon.
9. Bicentennial Bicentennial Park Sydney ParkVisit part of Sydney Olympic Park at Homebush Bay for a day outdoors and nature. BBQ areas and picnic, playgrounds, bike paths, access to wetlands. Drive or take the train (not free) at Olympic Park.
10. Musica published many Sydney pubs will present free performances on the band nights selected. (Of course, you would pay for your drinks.) Consult the list of shows in progress during your visit to Sydney.
