So I was a little bummed to be missing out this year. However, since my host family lives out in the suburbs, there were like 12 trick-or-treaters that came to the door. That’s A LOT for France. These kids dont really know the rules of trick-or-treating though so I taught them how to say “betises ou bonbons” before they got candy. Then one of the other American students had a Halloween party. I didnt have a costume so I simply wore the random souvenirs I bought in Paris. It was a lot of fun and I was happy to share Halloween with not only Americans, but a lot of the other international students in our program. It was nice to be a goofball and dance the night away. That is one thing I do find difficult about living in France is that my silliness is not acceptable here. I can be goofy with my host family which is great, but all other times it can be a little restricting.

Men married in their early twenties and women in their early teens if they both had been Roman citizens. Slaves were forbidden to marry; however, after the emperor Augustus passed the law of Julia free slaves were allowed to marry as long as the one they married was not a senator. They would get married in the betrothal where the families would join together for a wedding. They would exchange gifts and marriage would be official by signing a paper and sealed with a kiss. Since getting married was important they would choose a date very specific because some dates were better then others and June was the best month.

The Dorset holiday cottages give their guests a feeling of being at home while actually being physically away from it. What’s great about Dorset holiday cottages is that they are very flexible and adaptable to their guests’ requests and demands. If you are travelling in large groups, you can book in one of the bigger cottages.

The Manx as locals proudly refer to themselves, are revelrous kind, so much for a pint of barrel of beer at a local pub if they are willing to out krump on the dance floor in one of the few on the island night clubs. Or sip a cocktail in Jak Steakhouse in Douglas (Isle of the most populated city) or downing a pint at The Creek Inn Peel wharf, get ready to feel the love Manx. Do not worry, they will be careful – the threat of liquidation of only non-smoking prison in Europe is enough for most people to keep in line. People love their smokes.

We got up early again this morning and checked out of our hotel. We were a little stressed because the delay in our hiking trip due to yesterday’s train strike caused a problem for us today, we had to hike with our luggage. Mom and Dad had backpacks so that wasn’t awful, but I had my Vera Bradley duffle bag with me. I was not a happy camper when I realized I would be hiking with it all day. It wasn’t heavy, but it is painful to have the weight unevenly distributed to one side of my body for long periods of time. We took the train from Moneglia to Riomaggiore—the last of the 5 towns that make up Cinque Terre. We ate breakfast at a small café and it was delicious. Dad and I ate bacon and egg muffins and Mom had bacon, eggs, and toast.

Was called after breakfast we drove to our first route, the Via dell 'Amore Street of Love. This part of the hike was pretty relaxed and smooth. It was along the coast, so we have a breathtaking view of the water. People had messages, names and anniversaries along the way on the written

Rocks and fences. For those of you who read my blog about Paris, the street of love also has the lock thing, like the padlock bridge in Paris. The padlocks were locked everything and anything on the track. It was valuable to say the least. The Street of Love lasted only about an hour and ended up in a town called Manarola. At that point, the couple we had met the night before told us to get on a bus to take us to the top of the mountain to start the hike to Corniglia, instead of the trailhead at the bottom.

We were not quite clear on the bus situation, so we started on foot to what we hoped was the track and ended up hiking on the mountain. We have found now that the roads were badly faded red and white lines marked. I put my bag as if it were a backpack to try to distribute the weight evenly around were not thrown out of balance (and from the mountains). It worked decently well, but I have big bruises on my shoulders where the straps were. The terrain on this route was

narrow and uneven. It was hard, my ankles from rolling, as I struggled to climb over 200 steps to keep big, but somehow I've managed to survive to 4 ½ hours of walking in one piece! From Corniglia to Vernazza we took, what, where we ended our journey by walking the 385 steps to the train. We met a lot of people on their way from all regions of the world and it was a fun adventure. In the afternoon we took a 4-hour train ride to Milan. Milan reminds me of New York City and Madrid, mixed into one. By the time we found our hotel (which has a lot of effort), it was dark, so we do not get to see much of the city. We ate at the Moulin Rouge, which was very tasty and conveniently close to our hotel! Then Mom and I set out to find a bakery, but it was too late, so we settled for gelato (not complain that I did!). The communication was difficult in Milan, but luckily a few people spoke Spanish, so I was able to ask them questions and directions, etc.

thought it was pretty funny that all three of the two single beds pushed together. Talk about family bonding time. I get used to the heated towel rack, that the hotels in Italy. We are here to leave around 6:30 clock in the morning to walk to the subway, take the subway to the train station and the bus from the train station to the airport, about 45 minutes away.

Mom did a great job booking the trip! Thank you for taking the time and genius, to do all this for us!

La 22.10. Brekkarin jälkeen mentiin suoraan oopperalle ostamaan Illan näytökseen, Tsaikovskin Iolanthe, liput. Sieltä jatkettiin Golden Gaten kautta St.Sophien kirkolle. Siellä Oli jotkut messut meneillään JA Oli kyllä Aika vaikuttavaa. Alueella kaikki naiset kulkivat huivi päässä JA fiilis Oli kuin jostain Sota-Ayan elokuvasta. Coco kaupunki on täynnä todella massiivisia JA upeita neukkurakennelmia Eika IHAN keskustassa juurikaan ole mitään Kamalia laatikkotaloja. Mentiin Podiliin syömään tripadvisorin suosittelemaan paikkaan JA saatiin tilattua kunnon saslik-vartaat. Pettymys. Todella iso pettymys …

Leninin patsaalla JA jatkettiin hotellille hetkeksi lepäämään. Oopperaan lähdettiin kauhealla kiireellä JA tungettiin Coco porukka pieneen taksiin päällekkäin. Oltiin oopperassa 10min ennen näytöstä JA kaikilla näytti olevan itself aikataulu. Hauskaa, ETTA adobe päivän näytöksiin saa helpolla ostettua lippuja kun to tottunut Helsingin malliin, jossa liput pitää varata jo kuukausia etukäteen suosittuihin juttuihin. Itse ooppera Oli, hmmm … IHAN kauhea. 4 näytöstä, joissa kaikissa tapahtui Erie juttuja. Ekassa MUA yskitti, toisessa aivastutti, kolmannessa nukutti JA viimeisessä ahdisti (ETTA Eiko TAA kamaluus jo lopu). En vain tajua oopperaa. Kaikki Muu menee JA osaan nauttia niistä, mutta ooppera … his ex Vahan Toima.

Oopperasta lähdettiin etsimään yhtä baaria, jossa pitäisi Olla ns. mielisairaalan sisustus. No käveltiin jossain kaupungin laidoilla Monta kilometriä Eika mitään löydetty. Ihmisiltäkin on Aika vaikeaa kysyä Coon eivät Pooh englantia JA found kyrilliset aakkoset menee IHAN OHI. Aika hankalaa kung eu EDES kadunnimiä kunnolla tunnista. Vihdoin löydettiin Klubi / Bari JA käytiin yhdellä. Sieltä käveltiin vielä kohti hotellia JA löytyi toinen IHAN Kiva kuppila. Se Oli tolkuttoman savuinen JA istumisen kruunasi, Coon 4 täysin kännissä olevaa uhmakasta nuorta miestä alkaa piirittämään Meydan pöytää. Yksi esittelee jotain taskusta kaivamaa kortsua JA toinen yrittää heittää meille jatkuvasti rahaa. Kolmas alkoi haastamaan riitää. Onneksi häipyivät jonkin Ayan kuluttua
