AirTran said Tuesday its sales will run through April 14 and costs for travel between April 15 and Nov. 2 with cheap prices on Tuesday and Wednesday flights. There are more than 30 blackout days, when sale prices do not apply.
The airline advertises fares such as $ 158 round trip between Baltimore and Bermuda or Florida, and $ 198 for Atlanta, Washington and Boston to Fort Myers, Florida, travel.
Frontier says it is offering some seats as low as $ 78 round trip for travel Monday through Thursday between June 1 and September 8. Cheap deals from Milwaukee, with the majority Tour from Los Angeles, San Francisco and Dallas, from $ 188 to $ 328.
Airlines say those rates are not on all flights, and they do not say how many seats they will sell at low prices.
Tom Parsons, CEO of travel website BestFares.com, said more airlines, including United, Continental, Delta and American have been appropriate AirTran selling – perhaps reluctantly. Airlines are trying to raise prices to offset the high cost of aviation fuel, as well as new sales undermines these efforts.
