Card: Four Great Places to Stay in Montauk
It's that time of year when New Yorkers without homes by the sea to start wondering what went wrong, like some bit of joy can eventually be recovered from the summer, and if it is not entirely too late to make a reservation at least a hotel in Hampton. Because even if the destination if the beach is crowded with New York or 'too trendy' or whatever, the beaches are some of the most beautiful in the world, with dune grass, tan sand and exhilarating, the cold, rough sea. Anyone coming to town or anywhere near it in the summer months is due to them for spending a weekend here. In recent years, Montauk, the former more relaxed, the town farthest-out (two and a half to four hours from the city by car, depending on traffic), has emerged as the hip place to stay.
