Chips and Ham
Flight was long but normal service despite the strike.
Arrived Heathrow 5am to a very cold morning, about 2C. Immigration was a breeze with zero queue, I’m still stunned by that since at minimum 3 flights were due in within 15 mins of us. Bags were tagged as business and amazingly they were nearly the first to come out on the baggage carousel.
Had to wait for a Hertz shuttle bus outside. Hertz tried to convince me they were “considerably cheaper for fuel” and I should pre-buy a tank full. I did not believe them and as it’s hard to take a tank back empty I opted out. Later discovered they were charging 2p over pump price anyway.
The Mondeo we have was brand new and thus has brakes that grab badly but drives ok for a diesel.
