Prague in the rearview mirror
The weather continued to be ugly Monday in Prague. We went to the Charles Bridge, which is pedestrian only and lined with statues. Some have been replaced with copies, I mean 3-400 years of the elements can wear them down! After that we went back to Old Town, saw the town astronomical clock do it’s thing and roamed around some more. It was just too chilly and rainy to enjoy much of anything, so we did a little shopping and went back to the hotel, to pack up for tomorrow’s trip to Karlovy Vary, originally Carlsbad, the biggest spa resort in Czech Republic.
Tuesday, time to leave Prague. The rain finally quit. We took a taxi to the bus station to drive 2 hours in Karlovy Vary. If you take the train is 4 hours and apparently expensive. By the time we get to KV, the sun is shining and a beautiful day! The area of the old spa town is beautiful! Everything is Ted pain in pastel colors and seems common in Europe, the main tourist area is pedestrian. First, each bought a little funky contaniner drinking the spring water in. Most of that was warm to hot, mineral with a mild flavor, which is supposed to drink each in order, with the to "take the cure." I guess it took some of the cure!
So we walked around looking for the spa, which was frustrated, so I could not find on the map! Finally a good German woman took pity on me, standing on a bridge whispering in my map and said he is across the street from the largest spa KV! So we returned to our hotel and went in the direction of the man at the hotel we said, and there, about 500 yards away, was a spa! DUH! Go figure, if
