Give the dog a room first dog-friendly in the UK luxury tour operators
Silly Season is almost upon us and so we bring you our first – but hopefully not the last – the story of animal-related travel in the summer: start the Chien Bleu, Britain's first luxury tour operator, passengers and their dog.
French name to give it a certain Gallic sophistication – at least we assume that it is thinking – but all 30 hotels in the road-tested with the owner of Erin Boyd and his faithful golden retriever, Blue, are in fact the UK.
Gems include Pet Pampering Package at the Milestone Hotel in Kensington, West London, where the room service menu features steak and Cumberland sausage – a dog, that is – and Blagdon Manor Devon, a "locally-made gourmet dog biscuits" are the highlight of any stay.
PR could not resist slipping in a few doggy puns into the press release – "pawfect" breaks, the hotels are "paw of approval" from the Blue (the dog's – to stay!), Although unfortunately a few pages of word games. It compensates for this control is quite a wonderful selection of pictures of the Blue posing in a series of pristine cream sofas, armchairs and beds, as if to prove how dog-friendly these hotels are.
We look forward to bringing you more than people travel in the coming weeks.
