• As described in our guide to the city of Amsterdam
Located just outside the Museum Quarter and Vondelpark, the Flying Pig Uptown has been recently renovated in 2010 and is a nice alternative to the Flying Pig Downtown, increasingly frantic owners' flagship hostel in the red light district. Uptown you get the party-centered atmosphere with the detoxifying Vondelpark next door – you can even borrow to explore in-line skates. The bar is always full, so the kitchen, where visitors bond over the stove. Not surprisingly, this generates an active space, with guests coming and going at all hours. Warning: the hostel is on its rigid under-35 only political, but if you are beyond this limit, it is unlikely to want to share a room with hordes of rowdy 18-year-olds.

You can guess that the owners are Backstage lovers of great music by the name of the hotel alone, and the inner drives the issue home – guitars and memorabilia adorn the walls, and is also sponsored by Jack Daniel. Part of the concept comes from the location: just minutes away from music venues Melkweg and Paradiso, the theater district and a selection of bars blues. The furnishings are all inspired by the case of flight, while the light border of mirrors to create an authentic atmosphere bulbs dressing. There is also a four bedroom Guitar Hero (yes, including the game) that is decorated wall to wall in the original drawings of the legendary tattoo artist Henk Schiffmacher Amsterdam.

Its three rooms embrace a mixture of styles – full of antiques, curiosities and other seemingly random items collected on travels, ranging from colonial cabinets and carpets Arab neoclassical chandeliers. All rooms have private bathroom, and there is a communal kitchen for all guests. As is so common in the budget range of Amsterdam, however, you must be careful of the climb. It may feel like hell for a ladder to reach the third floor rooms, especially when you drag your luggage.

This new chain, the Netherlands has been accumulating praise, especially after the opening in Glasgow in 2010. It 'started in Amsterdam, first as a hotel at Schiphol Airport, then in the south of the city. Although a boutique hotel in the heart (the Vitra furniture imagination are a gift), service quality, luxury bedding at affordable prices make it a paradise for everyone from backpackers to business travelers. Each room is identical, with a bed against a wall to wall window, toilet and shower glass futuristic off to the side. All tech features, including the ambient light in color, are controlled via the Moodpad Philips. Party people may feel out of sorts in the residential sector, but the center is only a short tram ride or train.
Proving that you can find insulation between the noise and action of downtown, this B & B sits on a small delicate little side street between the roar of trams and the Damrak street Nieuwendijk shopping frenzy. As is only five minutes from Central Station, you will get a rare taste of life center of Amsterdam with easy access to nearby attractions, avoid seedy hotels in the area. The rooms have a clean environment, they feel Swedish. It is also renowned for the friendliness, comfort and cleanliness, and you will feel served by the owner Camillo.
This place is all about location and price: a quiet courtyard just steps from the Leidseplein nightlife saturated. Brinker is obtained as the budget balance, a well known fact, exploited in the long marketing campaign that boasts that it is "a cheap, dirty hostel, cold, young people with low-light" with "rusty beds in dorms awkwardly shaped "and used paper flags stuck in dog excrement all over town shouting that he was more of the same at the hostel. The sleeping area, with their metal bunk beds and lockers closely arranged, reminiscent of the series of porridge, and the rooms are awkwardly shaped, but the place is surprisingly orderly. It 'a great place for younger travelers who are at risk of falling asleep in one of the bars surrounding it anyway.
