8 on Turkish flight to Tunis injured by turbulence
TUNIS, Tunisia — Witnesses and Turkey’s state news bureau state eight people on a Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul to Tunisia’s capital have been injured when the plane ran into severe turbulence.
The Anatolia news bureau is citing aviation officials as saying that four passengers and four crew members were injured on flight TK661 shortly before arriving in Tunis on Sunday afternoon.
Turkish passenger Soreir Tusculeaglu and a Tunis-Carthage airport ground crew worker who knew about the flight stated two of the injured were taken to the hospital for treatment of serious though unspecified injuries.
Anatolia and the witnesses stated 230 people were on board the Airbus A330, which landed in overcast and rainy conditions in the Tunisian capital.
