American Airlines starts Miami-Gainesville service
NEW YORK — American Eagle Airlines, a regional affiliate of American Airlines, stated it will offer nonstop flights between Miami and Gainesville and Miami and the Bahamas, later this year.
American Eagle stated service between Miami and Gainesville, the home of the University of Florida, will begin Oct. 1. Seasonal service between Miami and Treasure Cay Airport will resume Nov. 18. The carrier will run one Miami-Gainesville and one Miami-Treasure Cay flight per day, on a 64-seat aircraft.
American Airlines is the second-largest airline in the U.S., and is run by Dallas-based AMR Corp.
