Detroit-Phoenix aircraft diverted to Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs, Colorado – A plane en route from Detroit to Phoenix has made an emergency landing in Colorado Springs after problems with one of its engines.

Delta Flight 1921 landed at Colorado Springs Airport Thursday morning.

The airport said the plane's 225 passengers evacuated the plane's emergency slides as a precaution, since the Boeing 757 had hot brakes after landing.

The FAA said the fire also reported the plane's main landing gear.

The airport said two passengers suffered minor injuries during the evacuation and were taken to hospital.

A phone call to Delta was not immediately returned.
