Toilet paper scare on Alaska Airlines

Santa Ana, California – The Alaska Airlines jet was evacuated Friday afternoon in Orange County, Calif., airport after a suspicious powder was reported in a toilet. Turned out to be remnants of toilet paper, the NBC News.

A flight attendant aboard Flight 508, which originated in Seattle, found a tissue containing a "white powder," Alaska Airlines spokesman Bobbie Egan told NBC News.

In practice, the flight crew radioed ahead to John Wayne airport and the plane met with a hazardous materials team, Egan said.

The 151 passengers and six crew members were evacuated safely.

The material seems to be ruins of toilet paper, "said Rachel Gibson, a spokesman for the airport.

The plane was to return to service after the cabin has been cleaned, Egan said.
