Hotels in Seattle kiss $ 2 tax to attract visitors

It may be that some travelers will speak this fall if the new tax is passed the hotel in Seattle.
Seattle Hotel Association and the Seattle Convention and Visitors Bureau to local groups seeking to boost the coffers depleted promotion, adding $ 2 per night fee and room taxes are sales that are already among the highest in the country.

If approved, Seattle city council, the new fee could take effect in November and will be added to the 15.6 percent sales and room tax is paying guests Seattle.

"Reducing the budget tourism the state will eventually be worth more than saving. It's like eating your seed corn: You run the risk of having nothing to plant next year," White said.
